On September 25th @ 10:00AM the lodge will host our Veterans History Project open house. Veterans
from all eras Elks and non-Elks are welcome to be interviewed concerning their military service to
our country. The Grand Lodge is sponsoring this project across the country. Raleigh is already doing
it and will help our lodge get started. The project will be ongoing and will be held the last Saturday
most months. Veterans who are interviewed will be given a video copy of the interview and may
request additional copies for their children and grandchildren. An official copy will be sent to the
Library of Congress in Washington, DC where it will be archived along with thousands of other
interviews. They will be available for patrons of the library.
Please call the lodge office @ 288-5100 to make your appointment now, or contact Dwight Strickland
@ 210-3213. Tell all veterans. All veterans are welcome!
