The monthly Elks Seafood Night event is not a fundraiser. It is an event for our member families and their guests to come and enjoy good food and fellowship at a reasonable price. All of our help in the planning, ordering, purchasing, preparing and serving is done by Elks Volunteers. We strive to have the best seafood and accompanying food items that may be available in the Greensboro area. Since we do not serve plates, you may enjoy an "All You Care to Eat and Drink Buffet" and we charge a flat fee with no tax or tip. However, we are required to pay normal sales tax on each transaction. This means that when an adult pays $7.00 for a meal and beverage we only receive approximately $6.49 to offset our expenses. Some of our customers consume that amount in beverages alone and as an example, when our monthly extra special is Oyster Stew; each ten-ounce bowl costs us $2.25.

We have not raised our price of $7.00 for adults in many years and as you know prices have escalated, and State Sales Tax has increased. We want to continue to have our Elks Member Families enjoy our Elks facility and the Seafood Event at a reasonable price. Therefore our prices for Elks Members and dependent family members will remain the same. Elks Members pay annual dues to enjoy the events held at our Club while many of our guests have seemed to be regulars at our Seafood Night Event and at no additional cost to them.

Beginning with the January 2010 Elks Seafood Night Event, the price for all adult guests will be $ 9.00. Members, you will be required to show your membership card when paying and all signed-in adult guests will be charged the new $ 9.00 price.

We Elks volunteers will strive to continue to serve you as best we can with excellent seafood dinners and we are hopeful you will continue to support one of Greensboro Elks most popular events.
